The final encounter in the project will involve the audience: young children, children, adolescents and families. The results of the earlier workshops in Utrecht, Ghent and Düsseldorf will be communicated to specific age groups.
Choreographers will often be uncertain as to what a certain age group can handle, and how different age groups will respond to certain performances. Some performances will have a different effect when they are presented to an audience of children only, or to a mixed audience of children and adults.
We work in a field where the audience often will not decide for themselves which performance they will attend. Teachers, pedagogues and parents have strong prejudices towards what is good and bad; what is allowed and what is not. But do the children, who grow up in a different age as their parents, agree with them? Are these discussions a matter of generation or culture? How should we take care of our audiences; what is a safe environment? How can we freely follow our artistic ideas without ignoring our audiences? In this workshop, the choreographers will develop ideas by involving the audience itself in their research. They will develop ideas in collaboration with children, and ask the different age groups for feedback on the work they will have developed.

Dschungel Wien is hosting partner of this final workshop programme in collaboration with Szene Bunte Wähne Tanz.
