tanzhaus nrw (1978) is an independent international centre for dance art productions, presentations and education. tanzhaus nrw has been an experienced network partner and has collaborated with several international partners, such as the European Dance House Network (EDN), Centers for New media, Goethe Institute, Institute Français, Konfuzius Institute. On a national level, tanzhaus nrw is the initiator of the regional dance platform (tanz nrw), and a partner in the Dance Platform Germany, National Performance Net (NPN) and the Internationale Tanzmesse NRW. Since 1998 the house has been working in dance for young audiences; it has been inviting outside productions for young people, collaborating with schools and youth centres etc. Within “Take-off: Young dance” (Danceplan Düsseldorf) the house co-/produces dance for young audiences, organises dance performances with
young people and cooperates with schools, kindergartens and youth centres. Over the past few years, tanzhaus nrw has become the most productive theatre for dance productions for and with young people in Germany. The first meeting of FTE was based on an invitation from Tanzhaus nrw during the 4th Take-off dance festival for young audiences.
