Kopergietery (1978) is a performing arts centre with a focus on theatre, dance and music. It hosts theatre companies and artists from Belgium and abroad. The activities are directed largely towards young audiences and Kopergietery also offers young people a workspace where they can create theatre or dance performances through various workshops. Each season Kopergietery organises more than 200 events (its ownwork, guest performances, events, residences, concerts, etc.). Kopergietery tours with its own work around Belgium, the Netherlands, and more than 16 countries. There are about 250 tour performances every season. Each season, 200 children between the ages of 7 and 20 participate in the Theatre Workshops. On tour and in Ghent, Kopergietery reaches an average audience of 200,000 per season. The number of visitors continues to rise every year.
