DSCHUNGEL WIEN (DW, 2004) is an unique diversity of performing art forms for young audiences. It is the only theatre and dance house in Austria with a strong emphasis on international exchange and networking across the ranks. The diversity in its activities is what makes DW special: international guest performances and festivals as well as international co-productions. Young artists from all over Europe take part in DW’s creative processes and international interest from dancers, actors, dramaturges and producers is growing all the time.
DW has a long-lasting special experience in dance for very young children (0-4 years). Not only does it invite international productions with a focus on dance and movement, it also produced 5 dance productions for infants. DW has a strong cultural mediation programme, which we will be intensifying for dance for young audiences during the FTE’s project period.
